It is starting to look very Christmassy in our house already this year, and now that I've brought down the big box of Christmas crafting supplies there is already glitter, shiny paper and sparkly things spread out all over the place! This week I've been using some fab Posca pens to decorate little wooden Christmas decorations. You might remember that I shared some crafts using Posca pens a few weeks ago as part of Crafting is my Therapy, and this time I've been using some Posca Extra Fine Art and Craft Markers (affiliate link) which have a finer tip for more delicate art work.
To make the decorations I used some blank wooden Christmas shapes. I was given them by a friend, but you can easily find similar ones to purchase, for example these at Baker Ross. I first painted the shapes with a coat of acrylic paint and left them to dry thoroughly. Then I used the Posca Pens to decorate the shapes.
I've made a little video to show the pens in action, you can see how smoothly they cover the surface and how the fine drawing point makes it easy to draw with plenty of detail. The pens dry very quickly, and you can use a light colour easily over a darker one.
They are fab pens and you can use them on almost any surface. They come in beautiful vibrant colours and the children love using them too, as you can see below they loved making their own decorations! I'm thinking that they would be great for livening up some plain baubles on the Christmas tree, you could make personalised baubles for your children with names and dates and let them come up with their own designs. You could also use them to make gifts for family members - perhaps decorate a photo frame with a picture of the child in, or plain bowl that can be used for storing bits and pieces. All sorts of possibilities for festive crafting!
I received a pack of Posca pens in exchange for this review. You can see the Posca range and other pens here - Uniball.
