Crafting is my Therapy April 2016

Welcome to Month 3 of the Crafting is my Therapy linky! This is a monthly crafting linky where myself and Me, You and Magoo share what we've been working on this month, and we love you to join in with your own crafty posts.

My biggest crafting success this month was finally finishing my Granny Square Blanket! Well, I've not been working on it that long perhaps, but finishing off those last rounds of the border was a bit of a slog. I was determined to get on with it though and not leave it lying about, and I'm delighted with the finished blanket!

I've been wanting to make a crochet blanket for a long long time now, so it's lovely to have crossed that one of the list. I'm not sure that I'll attempt another blanket of Granny Squares for a while though, it took a lot longer than I expected it to. Now that this project is finished off I'll be starting my next crochet project with is a bunting kit that I received for Christmas.

My Sky Blanket is also coming along very nicely. I've always been a bit worried that it's not wide enough, but it's going to be very long, and the width is a nice amount to get done in a day, it only takes me about 10-15 minutes to do a row which is very achievable. I often save my row for the very end of the day when I'm putting the children to bed, I can work on it while one or the other is doing their reading.

I also managed a sewing project - my stuffed bunny for Easter. This was a project with a very quick turnaround as it was in collaboration with a brand, and it did get me rather stressed as it was the most complicated sewing project I've attempted so far and I didn't really know where to start. But once I'd worked out what I wanted to do I got on well with it, and Mia was so delighted with her bunny that it was completely worth it!

    1. Thank you! I'm loving making it, luckily my rows are quite short so it doesn't take me too long to do each day and I can catch up easily if I've missed a few days.

  2. Oh your granny square blanket is absolutely beautiful. I made a start on one of these a while ago but had to take a break when we got kittens (yarn of all kinds was no good in our house for a while!) By the time I got back into it I couldn't track down any more of the wool I'd be using, so its a kind of long and thin throw that just about covers our tub chair! Never mind, maybe I'll attempt another one some time in the future

    1. Thank you! I'm always worried that I'll start a project and run out of wool, I have ideas for other blankets that I'd like to make but I've no idea how to calculate how much I'll need!

    1. Thank you! I hate sewing in the ends, I try to do it each week but don't always get to it, I make myself do it by the end of the month though as I'm taking photographs for my monthly blog post!
