Three years of blogging

I've been blogging now for three whole years! I've really surprised myself if I'm honest, after previous failed attempts at blogging I never thought that I'd make it beyond the first few months. What kept me going this time was the discovery of an amazing community of bloggers. For me, blogging is no longer about just writing these blog posts (although it's something that I love doing). I love being a part of this community and sharing my thoughts and ideas.

Blogging has also introduced me to all sorts of things that I never would have found otherwise. For example, would I have discovered Pinterest? Actually I probably would have done, but I wouldn't be using it to the same extent, it's been an amazing source of inspiration to me, both for crafts and activities to do with the children and for myself.

But I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be using Twitter, and although I'm not always particularly active at tweeting myself I'm always over there reading the fabulous content shared by others. I'm also sure that I wouldn't be using Instagram either, and now I love using it.

I've set myself little challenges via my blog, which keep me motivated and excited about trying new things. I set up my Day Zero Project list which I'm working steadily through, and last year I loved taking part in the Great Bloggers Bake Off - I tried baking so many things that I never would have done otherwise.

The world of blogging has also introduced me to trends like loom bands, and although I wanted to try out Hama beads I don't think I would have been so interested in them without the ideas shared by other bloggers!

Since BritMums, I've been really inspired with my blogging. I updated and simplified my blog design, and I've been thinking very carefully about the quality and content of the posts that I publish. Crafting has always been a big focus of my blog, right from my very first post sharing my felt biscuits. I've been crafting away like mad lately, and I have loads of crafty projects lined up which I'm really excited to share.

I'm afraid that I don't have a giveaway lined up this year but I did bake a cake to celebrate, so I will share a virtual slice with you! Thank you to all my readers, I do hope that you continue to enjoy reading my little blog!

  1. Happy blogging birthday! I have to agree that the community I've found through blogging has been brilliant and wasn't something I expected at all when I set out all those years ago. Looking forward to seeing your crafty posts. Got a few up my sleeve too...

  9. Oh I highly doubt I'd half as much as I do about social media if I wasn't a blogger. And I have met some amazing people the last five and whatever years.I think blogging has certainly made a better parent in a way and I'm more likely to try stuff if I know there others I can chat with about it.

    1. I never used social media before my blog, barely even Facebook, and now I use it all the time (and I think that it has made my life richer!) I definitely do more with the children too
